Women's Crisis Center – Maysville Shelter Auxiliary Worker

Women's Crisis Center provides services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Hotline crisis intervention, hospital and court advocacy, shelter for victims of domestic violence and child witnesses of domestic violence, public education and volunteer programs are a few of the many services we provide. We offer the opportunity to work in a professional team atmosphere.

The Auxiliary Worker is a part time, on call staff person that assumes regular staff responsibilities, and at times, may work on a shift alone or with volunteers as a support staff.  The individual in this position must be available to work overnights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities include: Providing crisis intervention through the hotline, facilitating and maintaining active and open communication with shelter residents, maintaining shelter facility and communicating with staff.

Public Education Specialist

Women's Crisis Center provides services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Hotline crisis intervention, hospital and court advocacy, shelter for victims of domestic violence and child witnesses of domestic violence, public education and volunteer programs are a few of the many services we provide. We offer the opportunity to work in a professional team atmosphere.

Under the supervision of the Manager of Public Education & Volunteer Services, develops and provides educational programs to schools, business and community groups, and civil rescue and protection services.  Conducts United Way presentations and participates in community sponsored informational exhibits.

Hours: Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Must be flexible to work occasional evenings and weekends

Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Communications or Education is required.  Good oral and visual presentation skills. Knowledge of legal referral procedures for reporting abuse preferred. Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain high levels of confidentiality. Demonstrated ability to work well independently or in a team environment. Demonstrated ability to problem solve, make decisions and manage multiple priorities. Knowledge of domestic violence and sexual assault a plus.

Counselor/Advocate
Women's Crisis Center provides services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Hotline crisis intervention, hospital and court advocacy, shelter for victims of domestic violence and child witnesses of domestic violence, public education and volunteer programs are a few of the many services we provide. We offer the opportunity to work in a professional team atmosphere.

Under the supervision of the Shelter Program Manager, the Counselor Advocate provides a full range of crisis intervention, assessment, counseling, advocacy, and referral services to victims of domestic violence, rape, and related abuse.

Hours: Tuesday, 10 pm to 8 am and Wednesday through Friday, 11 pm to 9 am
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field is preferred. Knowledge of legal/court systems preferred. Good oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work well independently or in a team environment. Demonstrated ability to problem solve, make decisions and manage multiple priorities. Knowledge of domestic violence and sexual assault a plus.

Counselor/Court Advocate works under the supervision of the director providing a full range of crisis intervention assessment, counseling, advocacy and referral services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Must be flexible to work occasional evenings.

Requirements – Bachelor’s Degree in a social service related field preferred, one to two years related experience, ability to work in highly stressful, crisis-oriented situations while handling sensitive information with confidentiality.  Good listening, oral and written communication skills, problem solving and ability to work well independently as well as with a team.

Counselor/Advocate - Covington
Women's Crisis Center provides services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Hotline crisis intervention, hospital and court advocacy, shelter for victims of domestic violence and child witnesses of domestic violence, public education and volunteer programs are a few of the many services we provide. We offer the opportunity to work in a professional team atmosphere.

As a Counselor/Advocate you will provide individual and group counseling to victims as well as answer the hotline, provide case management for clients, assess for other agency services including shelter, housing assistance and hospital advocacy.

Currently, we have a position available housed at the Covington walk-in center. Monday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Shelter and Tuesday - Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Covington with rare occasional evenings.
Requirements
Master's degree in Social Work or related field is preferred. Good oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work well independently or in a team environment. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities. Ability to be flexible with work schedule. Knowledge of domestic violence and sexual assault a plus.
