Deb Lyons
Deb Lyons is a painter and mixed media artist who currently lives and works in Paducah, Ky. Through her artwork, Deb is able to release the visions and passions of her love of color and textures. Her creative spirit is also the fuel that guides her expressions of life’s pleasures and distresses in the form of journaling her life in the artwork she creates.
Deb and her husband, Merle Paschedag, have opened I Colori Divini Gallery and Studio in Paducah’s Historic Lowertown and are part of the Paducah Artist Relocation Program. Deb grew up in Evanston, IL, just north of Chicago. She raised her two daughters in Evanston. Deb recently retired as an Associate Professor at National College of Education, National-Louis University. For 22 years she taught art at the College’s laboratory school, Baker Demonstration School. She was the first art teacher in Illinois to pass the rigorous National Board for Professional Teaching Standards portfolio and exam process in the Young Adult/ Adolescent Art category. Exploration, color, textures, variety of media and using art as a means of personal journaling are all parts of Deb’s current art journey.
