LOCAL
COORDINATING COUNCIL TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE
The Local Coordinating Council Project assists communities by providing a professional at the state level who can provide needed assistance to councils.
Objectives:
- To educate local officials and service providers about local councils.
- To update and coordinate distribution of the Model Protocol for Local Domestic Violence Coordinating Councils developed by the Governor's Council on Domestic Violence.
- To provide training for local communities on the development of coordinating councils.
- To distribute information to communities statewide regarding the availability of grants.
- To act as a clearinghouse on the issue of domestic violence councils.
The project provides services to the entire state of Kentucky. The project administrator works with other agencies and professionals at the state and national level, including the following:
- The Governor's Council on Domestic Violence
- County and Commonwealth Attorney's Offices
- Victim Advocates
- Shelters
- Mental Health Professionals
- Judges
- Law Enforcement Agencies
- Rape Crisis Centers
- Health Care Professionals
- Regional Community Policy Institute at Eastern Kentucky University
- Other State Coalitions
